about mr gahon

The poems on One Hungry Poet are all written by mr gahon.  They are crafted on a daily basis, the practice of which has been in effect for countless of years.  The poems are a reflection of the poet’s mindset and experiences all coming together to resuscitate and inspire.

From mr gahon:

There is nothing more liberating than the written word. Since I first memorized a poem to reading a Hemingway novel that I barely comprehended at the time, I knew that this would be part of my purpose… to write. I owe it to the people who surrounded me at the time, their knowledge of literature surpassed mine and I wanted to learn and consume it as they did. I became hungry in essence for words, for poetry, for literature. So I wrote notebook after notebook, filling box after box with no notion of how or where to publish. Perhaps fear… a lot of it fear now that I think about it. Until one night, about three or four years ago and I knew this fear has taken its toll and I couldn’t afford to be afraid anymore. And this became my promise to share the light I was discovering inside me… this onehungrypoet.

Thank you for reading.
